is the academic publication of the Center for Orthodox Thought and Culture at Eastern University, and the Damascene Society, now working together. Interdisciplinary in nature, it serves as a much needed forum for scholarly reflection and dialogue on myriad aspects of Eastern Orthodox faith, including theology, history, art, music, apologetics, book reviews, and even editorials. The journal reflects on topics pertinent to Eastern Christendom and examines a range of subjects through the Eastern Christian lens. It is staffed and edited by a board of academics, students, Orthodox clergy, and laity, and is written for a diverse audience of readers interested in intellectual engagement with Orthodoxy.

Articles For the Journal

The Journal accepts articles on topics that explore Orthodox thought, culture and religiosity. Topics include Orthodox theology, philosophy, history, literature and poetry. Book reviews, poems, and short stories are also welcome. Regular articles and short stories should be between 4,000 and 7,000 words, book reviews should be no more than 1,000 words, and poems should be no longer than 50 lines. All manuscripts must be written according to The Chicago Manual of Style, and follow the Manual’s citation directives. These parameters are strictly adhered to. Articles For the Blog

Writers are also invited to submit articles, book reviews, poems, and short stories specifically for The Journal’s blog. Please note this in your email.
